Inroads and Unitedhealth Group To Help Increase Diversity In The Healthcare Industry

  • More than 2 million health care professionals needed by 2025 in order to meet the nation’s aging population

  1. LOUIS, Nov. 8, 2018 — INROADS and UnitedHealth Group are expanding their collaboration with the goal to triple the amount of diverse, talented interns working at UnitedHealth Group in 2019.

INROADS and UnitedHealth Group launched their collaboration 19 years ago, offering diverse college students from across the country internships in departments such as Finance, Sales, Technology, Marketing, and Human Capital at United Health Group and its UnitedHealthcare and Optum businesses.

There is currently an unprecedented demand for health care workers. According to a research study by Mercer, the United States will need 2.3 million new health care workers by 2025 in order to adequately meet the health care needs of its aging population.
